Downtown Crime Stats

The mission of Anchorage Downtown Partnership, Ltd. is "to increase cleanliness, occupancy rates, investment values and lease income, to decrease crime, and to generally stimulate economic development and improve the quality of life in downtown Anchorage."

Anchorage Downtown Partnership, Ltd. provides additional services within the DID that complement - not replace - city services. That includes providing Security Ambassadors and Maintenance Ambassadors.

As the "eyes and ears" of Downtown, Security Ambassadors (SAs) serve and assist local businesses and our thousands of visitors. SAs patrol the streets and provide a helping hand by assisting emergency services personnel with traffic accidents, intervening with youth at risk and by providing helpful directions.

Working closely with Downtown Police and other emergency response services, SAs have become a vital part of making Downtown Anchorage a better - and safer - place.

APD Calls for Service in Downtown

A Call for Service is simply a request for police assistance. Calls for Service do not always generate a police report and therefore cannot be considered actual crime statistics. Police Reports are Calls for Service that results in official documentation of the incident. These reports form the basis of local, state, and federal crime statistics.
