<p class="eventDate">Downtown Jazz Festival</p>
<p>Alaska Jazz Workshop will perform.  The Alaska Jazz Workshop is a non-profit organization designed to  teach young people jazz. Based at the University  of Alaska, Anchorage, professional jazz musicians take  time to pass on their skills and knowledge to the next generation so that the  heartbeat of jazz will keep on beating and more young people will live fuller  lives.</p>
<h3>Sat. June 26th</h3>
<p class="eventDate">9th Army Band Jubilee</p>
<p>The 9th Army Band from Fort Wainwright  brings out it’s best for an afternoon of entertainment. The Brass Quintet consists of two  trumpets, a horn, trombone and tuba. A drummer occasionally accompanies the  group. This ensemble performs a number of traditional marches as well as pieces  arranged for brass.</p>
<p>The Jammin&#8217; Salmon Dixie Band features upbeat Dixie music. The band consists of 6 instruments &#8211; a  clarinet, trumpet, trombone, bass/tuba, drums, and banjo.  Musical selections include Mid-20th century Dixie tunes, Louis Armstrong tunes and Old TV show tunes  (Hee-Haw, etc.)</p>
<p>Arctic Groove Orchestra is the 9th Army’s large  popular music group.  It consists of male  and female vocalists, several horn players, piano, guitar, bass and drums  playing pop and rock music.</p>
<p>Jazz Combo is a small popular group that performs jazz  standards and other popular music. This group consists of a soloist  (saxophone), piano, bass and drums.</p>

<p class="eventDate">Tribute to Broadway</p>
<p>TBA Theatre presents a musical tribute  to Broadway at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.</p>

<p>The Derry Aires are essentially an a Capella ensemble, you just never know what these women will do on stage. Their shows feature a mix of instruments from kazoos and penny whistle to guitar, flute, violin and piano. Their fine musicianship, humor and gracious classiness have made The Derry Aires a much anticipated highlight of many local and national productions.</p>
