<p>The Highland Bagpipe Competition features bagpipe groups performing traditional bagpipe music in this friendly competition. May the best bagpipes win!</p>
<h3>Fri. July 2nd</h3>
<p>Wings To Fly featuring folk tunes played on fiddle, flute and guitar.</p>
<h3>Fri. July 9th</h3>
<p>The 9th Army Band Brass Quintet consists of two trumpets, a horn, trombone and tuba. A drummer occasionally accompanies the group. This ensemble performs a number of traditional marches as well as pieces arranged for brass.</p>
<h3>Fri. July 16th</h3>
<p>The Derry Aires are essentially an a Capella ensemble, you just never know what these women will do on stage. Their shows feature a mix of instruments from kazoos and penny whistle to guitar, flute, violin and piano. Their fine musicianship, humor and gracious classiness have made The Derry Aires a much anticipated highlight of many local and national productions.</p>
<h3>Fri. July 23rd</h3>
<p>The 9th Army Dixieland Band from Fort Wainwright features upbeat Dixie music. The band consists of 6 instruments &#8211; a clarinet, trumpet, trombone, bass/tuba, drums, and banjo. Musical selections include Mid-20th century Dixie tunes, Louis Armstrong tunes and Old TV show tunes (Hee-Haw, etc.).</p>
<h3>Fri. July 30th</h3>
<p>Karenodie &amp; Paul play original and contemporary music.</p>
<h3>Fri. Aug. 6th</h3>
<p>Galway Days Band plays traditional Irish Music.</p>
<h3>Fri. Aug. 13th</h3>
<p>TBA Theatre presents Folkstales a group that sings and spins yarns. </p>
<h3>Fri. Aug. 20th</h3>
<p>Midnight Starlight plays classic jazz and standards.</p>
<h3>Fri. Aug. 27th</h3>
<p>The Alaska Button Box Gang is a social and recreational group dedicated to promoting the history and enjoyment of button box accordion music. The band plays traditional Slovenian, German and Polish accordion music as well as songs written by members of the group.</p>

<p>Hot Club of Nunaka performs gypsy swing music.  From Duke to Dawg and Reinhardt to Rice, this quartet illustrates the distance between Appalachia and the Samois sur Seine isn&#8217;t all that far musically. </p>

<p>Monica Lettner performs jazz, pop and broadway.</p>
<h3>Thurs. July 22nd</h3>
<p>From Outer Space plays Indie/Alternative Rock music.</p>

<p>Scout is described as fresh music from Alaska. Scout plays original music and selected covers, vocal with acoustic and electric guitar.&nbsp; Many times accompanied by other musicians on harmonica and guitar.</p>

<p class="eventDate">Dixie Express Air Force Band of the Pacific</p>
<p>Dixie Express carries forward our heritage with music which is uniquely American. Their instrumentation includes trumpet, clarinet, trombone, banjo, piano, bass, and drums, allowing them to play a wide variety of ragtime, Dixie and jazz favorites.</p>

<p class="eventDate">Greatlanders</p>
<p>Entertainment is the signature of the<strong> Greatlanders</strong>, the Band of the Pacific&#8217;s 15-piece jazz band. Whether performing big band or contemporary jazz, classic rock &#8216;n roll, country, or highlights from the Broadway stage, The Greatlanders have excited military and civilian audiences alike.</p>
