Whale’s Tail at the Hotel Captain Cook

Whale’s Tail has nice atmosphere, a fun wine system, a full bar and good food. Works for me.
Whale’s Tail is classy, but comfortable. This is a great spot to chat with friends and relax.
This is a place to take your time and savor the good stuff.
The wine system offers a variety of choices and the chance to sample some expensive wine in small, affordable amounts.
The bar offers some creative mixes like the strawberry, cilantro, jalapeno margarita. A nice refreshing drink, not too sweet and as hot as you would like.
The menu offers appetizers and small plates with some great taco creations like the Harrissa Chicken Taco and kobe beef sliders that melt in your mouth.
They were specializing in tacos when I visited this week. I had the standard fish tacos while my more adventurous friends tried Harrissa Chicken and Spicy Steak tacos. We all thought our tacos were tasty.
I got the Smoked Cheddar Bacon Mac to take home to my roommate and it smelled so good it might not have made it home if I weren’t lactose intolerant. I was assured it tasted as good as it smelled.
Whale’s Tail has started having local musicians play on Thursday nights. Tonight you can catch Seth Boyer from 7 to 10 p.m.
The Whale’s Tail now opens at 4 p.m. and is open Tuesday through Saturday.

It is great to see some refreshing new clothes in Anchorage. Boutiques seem to be upping the ante on style options for the smart shopper in downtown.
