Thank you to everyone who showed up for our construction meeting at the beginning of the month. Your participation was greatly appreciated, as was the comments and information from the project managers who attended.
The meeting was such a success that we’d like to make it a regularly occurring monthly meeting for Downtown stakeholders. From now on, the downtown construction meetings will happen on the first Wednesday of every month, 9:00am-10:00am at the Alaska State Trooper Museum (245 West 5th Avenue, Suite 300)
Please join us on Wednesday, April 2nd from 9:00am-10:00am at the Trooper Museum. Bring your comments and questions about the summer construction season to the meeting!
Want to hear about tourism trends, what to expect, and what may be new for the upcoming summer tourism season? Then grab some grub, bag it up, and head on down to our monthly ADP Membership Meeting.
Our next monthly membership meeting will take place from 1:00 - 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 3rd in the conference room at the Trooper Museum.
Join us to get the latest updates on the summer season from the tour industry. Staff from several tour companies will be at the meeting to discuss summer visitor projections and much more. We'll also discuss our upcoming summer events schedule.
Please bring questions and information as we explore what summer 2008 has in store for us!
If you have any questions, please contact Kris Natwick at 279-5668.
If you live or work in Downtown, you now have the opportunity to beat the lines and vote early at City Hall!
From March 17 through March 31, 2008, registered voters can vote absentee in-person at City Hall Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm. All Municipal ballots will be available at this location, meaning that, no matter where you live, City Hall will have your district's ballot here in Downtown.
The polling location is on the second floor, Suite 250, at City Hall (632 W. 6th Avenue)
Be sure to bring a valid driver’s license or State ID card with you. Call 343-4311 if you have any questions.
From the Anchorage Park Foundation: It’s almost summer time, and you know what that means… it’s time for the 2008 Foster a Flower program!
The Foster a Flower program was developed as a way to promote stewardship of our city and gives individuals a chance to “foster” one or two of the over 1,000 baskets the Municipality hangs in downtown, Ship Creek, Spenard and Mountain View.
The beautiful hanging flower baskets you see every summer create a vibrant city and may be fostered for $75. Foster two baskets for $150 and we will display a plaque on a light post recognizing your donation. Fostering two baskets is a great way to gain recognition or celebrate and honor a loved one.
All participants receive a self-adhesive window display sticker. All donations are tax-deductible.
This year contributions can be accepted online. Credit card donations may be accepted via phone, fax or mail as well. Donations will be accepted at any time but to receive a plaque(s) you must submit you application and payment by May 23rd.
