It looks like we’ll better prepared for snow clearing within the Downtown Improvement District (DID) than ever before! With that in mind, we would like to invite you to attend one of our winter operations meetings this week at the Alaska State Trooper Museum (245 West 5th Avenue #113), where Clean & Safe Operations Director Charlie Keenhold will brief interested business & property owners about winter 2008/09 operations. We have scheduled two meetings at different times to accommodate schedules: Wednesday, November 12th Friday, November 14th We encourage everyone to bring questions and concerns to these meetings so that we can better understand the unique conditions and circumstances of your properties and businesses. City Crews Ask Help in Keeping Streets ClearFrom the Muni: To effectively remove snow from municipal streets and roads, the city’s street maintenance department is requesting all obstructions be removed from the path of heavy equipment and areas where snow will be stored this winter. Business owners are reminded to remove snow and ice from sidewalks adjacent their businesses. “No Parking” restrictions will be enforced in the downtown area seven days a week, allowing street maintenance to remove snow efficiently.
