Hawaii Statehood Celebration
Let’s celebrate our neighbors to the south (wayyy south) during the Hawaii Statehood Celebration on August 21 & 22. Anchorage will celebrate Hawaii’s 50th Anniversary of Statehood with music and dance from the islands. Friday, August 21, the party runs from 12 noon to 1:00pm, and Saturday, August 22 from 1:00pm – 3:00pm in Peratrovich Park.
The ADP Hawaii Day Celebration on Saturday (in Peratrovich Park)
1 – 1:20 p.m. — Ke Kia’I A O Hula (Traditional Hawaiian Dance)
1:20 – 2:45 p.m. – Hula Hui Na Haumana O Alaka (Polynesian Dance Troupe)
2:45 – 3:30 p.m. — Tupulaga (Youth Dance Group)
Hawaiian dancers, free leis, cake (provided by Costco), and face painting from 1 – 3:30 p.m. There will also be $5 Kalua Pork Sandwiches w/soda available for purchase.
Rumrunner’s Hawaii Celebration Block Party (in Peratrovich Park)
For the 21+ over crowd, you can stick around after the ADP event for more fun! Join Rumrunner’s and co-sponsors Red Bull, Corona, Budweiser, Movin 104.9 and 94.7 The END for a luau inspired party!
Rumrunner’s will spill out onto E Street and into Peratrovich Park for a party with lei’s, beer garden, pig roast, and music including: H3, Static Cycle, Melissa Mitchell, Dave Velasquez Band, Third Wheel and Pilot V.
Admission for the Block Party: $10 adults, $5 youth 11 – 17 years, free for 10 and under.
There will also be $5 Kalua Pork Sandwiches w/ soda available.
Admission for the beer garden: $10 cover charge, ID required.
