Ice Spa

The Sheraton Ice Spa opened the weekend after Labor Day and I found out they were having a sneak preview the weekend before they opened.  I decided to treat myself to some discounted treatments and see for myself how the new place checked out.

I wandered in to the Sheraton for my appointment on Sunday afternoon in my sweats & found out they were having some formal gala.  In trying to figure out how to get to the 16th floor one of the guests dressed for the gala was kind enough to explain that I had to go to the 15th floor and walk past Josephines to get to the elevator for the spa.  It has its own elevator.  Seriously.  I felt like I was part of some secret order getting on the special elevator.

They bill the Ice Spa as the coolest spa with the hottest view.  I have to agree.  The setting is amazing.  The ice theme lends to wonderful blue and gray coloring throughout the spa and plenty of glass and ice related art.  The whole setting is luxurious and relaxing.  I enjoying sitting by the fire in the waiting area looking east over the city.  While I had my pedicure I was seated with a beautiful view of the water and the city facing west.

The staff was friendly and helpful and remembered that I had said it was my birthday.  Since it was just a preview weekend only two staff were working, but both of them made a point of wishing me a happy birthday.  That was a nice touch to a wonderfully relaxing experience.  I would encourage everyone to give the new place a try just for the setting.  From the reception area to the changing rooms the spa is decorated in impeccable taste and creates an atmosphere of comfort.  I want to go back just to sit in their waiting area some more.  This is a must see and experience!
