Second Run

October 9, 2009 Written by: Ruth

Second Run used to be known as Out of the Closet.  They changed the name this year, but they haven’t changed the quality of gently used clothing and accessories.  This is name brand, high end stuff.  This cute shop is located at 7th and D across the street from Bernie’s.

On Wednesday they have a $5 rack and this week I found some serious deals!  I hate buying jeans because I am apparently built wrong and they never fit me well.  Not only did I find a pair that fit, they cost $5!  I’m telling you a miracle has occurred right here in Anchorage!

I also found two cute tops for $5.  Then I browsed the 50% off rack and found a leather jacket.  I have been looking for a jacket to wear to dressier occasions.  I know in Alaska I can get away with wearing that down filled coat that makes me look like the Michelin Man, but I somehow have hoped for better.  This was a Banana Republic jacket that doesn’t look used at all and I got it for 50% off the second hand price!

I could have spent the afternoon finding good deals…there were some very fun shoes in my size, but as fun as my job is they won’t agree to pay me for personal shopping so I had to go back to work.  That means I left some deals for the rest of you.

If you have PFD money burning a hole in your pocket or just love a good deal shop at Second Run.   The staff are great at offering suggestions and pointing out what works for you.   The atmosphere is boutique chic, the staff are friendly and helpful and the selection is top of the line.
