The Anchor

If you like hamburgers and I’m talking about real meat here, not some cardboard patty, The Anchor has just the thing for you.
I stopped by The Anchor last week with a friend for lunch and was in the mood for a good burger. I had no idea how good it was going to be! Normally it comes with grilled onions and a blue cheese mayo, but since I have special needs no cheese for me. They were very accommodating and brought me a nice selection of ketchup, oriental mustard and mayo to add to taste. I think I could have eaten the burger plain and been just as delighted. The grilled onions were a nice touch, but the meat was what this burger is all about. The Anchor uses only Mr. Prime Beef and it is obvious in the taste.
From the first delicious bite I was so happy I could barely speak. I don’t know about you, but when I’m in the mood for a good burger and I find a good burger there is a happy place I go.
Normally I manage to eat half of a burger and then I save the second half for lunch the next day. That was my intention, especially since this was a big burger and I am not so very big (and would like to stay that way)! Nope. Once I tasted this bliss there was no stopping until it was gone. My friend was a cross between impressed and appalled. I managed a few fries which I found I really liked dipped in the spicy oriental mustard, but it was really all about the burger so I had to focus. I had a lot of meat to eat.
The perfect high quality burger on a nice onion Kaiser roll with all those grilled onions…my mouth is watering now. I managed to eat the whole thing! It was a beautiful experience as only a really satisfying burger can be. I was stuffed and didn’t need to eat dinner, but I would do it again! It was a fantastic burger.
I think The Anchor is a big secret that people need to start talking about. I have always enjoyed the food there and it never seems to be crowded for lunch. Get in there. The food is awesome and the burger is what burgers should be.
The Anchor is definitely more than a late night stop. Go get some lunch and don’t forget to try the burger!
