Crystal Gallery of Ice

The Crystal Gallery of Ice is an annual event organized by Anchorage Downtown Partnership, Ltd. and hosted in the Town Square Winter Center, in the heart of downtown Anchorage. Ice carvers from all over the state (and world!) come to compete in our ice carving competition, transforming ice slabs into beautiful works of art.

The Crystal Gallery of Ice Competition took place on January 6- 8 and the sculptures are a glowing addition to the Winter Center. Don’t miss these artistic ice displays while they are in their prime. Thanks to all of the businesses that provide support for this spectacular event!

2013 Crystal Gallery of Ice competition

This year’s Crystal Gallery of Ice was a huge success! Despite warm weather and rain, our sculptures are still holding strong. Not only were the competition pieces spectacularly carved, but the Crystal Gallery “Walk” of ice sculptures have been a fun addition to downtown Anchorage!

Gallery Walk of Ice Exhibition

New for 2013, Anchorage Downtown Partnership, Ltd. worked with downtown property owners to display ice scultpures at various locations outside of the Town Square Winter Center. This allowed for visitors to get out and walk around downtown Anchorage, seeing wonderful ice sculptures in new locations!

The Town Square Winter Center

The Town Square Winter Center is dazzling. Come enjoy the work of the World Champion Chinese Ice Carvers who created a Disney themed Children’s Ice Park and while there take a ride in the Ice Spinners, bring your ice skates and enjoy the groomed ice rink, get your photo taken in front of the 30,000 lb. ice fountain. It’s all free and a gift from ConocoPhillips, Easy Park, MOA Parks & Recreation and Anchorage Downtown Partnership, Ltd.
